4×4 Repair Services, Rocklin/Roseville, CA

Our diesel mechanics are certified and have the experience to work on your 4×4 diesel/AWD (All wheel drive) truck. Some of the services we offer are:

Wheel Alignment

Our 4×4 wheel alignment service is a white glove service. Regardless of suspension configuration it is crucial that proper alignment specifications are achieved to maintain predictable vehicle control and handling. We have the tools, experience, and knowledge to ensure that vehicles are aligned to either their OE spec, or our own specification depending on custom applications. We utilize the latest alignment equipment to ensure that the correct Caster, Camber, & Toe are achieved, as well as axle offset, thrust angle, and total vehicle toe. Whether your vehicle is lifted, stock ride height, or even lowered, we can perform a perfect alignment every time.

Differentials

We are proud to specialize in differential rebuilding and regearing, as well as locking and limited slip differential installation. Locking differentials are an enormous advantage when you need traction. We have real world experience testing, evaluating, and installing numerous differential lockers commonly available on the market and can provide insight into which option is the best for your vehicle. We have all the necessary tools to correctly install Ring & Pinion gears, while measuring pinion & carrier preload, backlash, and tooth pattern. Traction is important whether trail riding at your favorite offroad park, getting to the ideal hunting location, or traveling through difficult weather.

Driveline

Differentials are extremely important in all vehicles, as the differential inside the axle housing is what sends power coming from the engine to the tires. This is important because the Ring & Pinion gears inside the differential are directly related to tire diameter. In order to maintain the ideal RPM at a specific vehicle speed, the tire size and gear ratio must match. We can help advise which Gear Ratio is the best for your rig.

Transfer Cases

The transfer case receives power from the transmission and sends it to both the front and rear axles. This can be done with gears, hydraulics, or chain drive. On some vehicles, such as four-wheel-drive trucks or vehicles intended for off-road use, this feature is controlled by the driver. The driver can put the transfer case into either “two-wheel-drive” or “four-wheel-drive” mode. This is sometimes accomplished by means of a shifter, similar to that in a manual transmission. On some vehicles this may be electronically operated by a switch instead. Some vehicles, such as all-wheel-drive sports cars, have transfer cases that are not selectable. Such a transfer case is permanently “locked” into all-wheel-drive mode.

Transmissions

Transmissions in truck, crossovers and SUV vehicles are often exposed to harsh use regardless of whether you are on the highway or off road. Our trained transmission mechanics will completely service your 4×4 vehicle’s transmission and drivetrain. Unlike many shops, we repair everything in-house, from axles to differentials, clutches and any other component effecting your drivetrain and transmission. We also build transmissions for many of the shops in our area that are unable to build their own.

Wheel Bearings

Maintenance is key to the survival of your four-wheel-drive vehicle, and that’s true whether it spends most of its time on the highway or on the trail. Most of us take care of the big-ticket items when it comes to keeping our rig maintained, but it often is easy to skip the smaller details of proper maintenance. One of these smaller items that literally can bring your next trip grinding to a halt involves wheel bearings breaking down. If you are experienceing problems turning or hearing noises in our around your axel area your bearings may be to blame. Bring your truck in and we will give you a diagnosis and estimate.
